After the forced break of 2020 due to COVID-19, this year the literary awards ceremony was held again in a new edition of the Night of Mystery.
On Monday, June 28, the ceremony of proclamation and awarding of the literary contest that is organized every year by the Terrassa delegation of Òmnium Cultural was held. As a novelty of this edition, it is worth noting the incorporation of a new theater award named the Àngels Poch Award, in honor of the Terrassa actress who disappeared in 2015. For this same reason, the event took place at the Teatre Principal of our city, in the Hall that bears the same name as the Terrassa actress, and the winners of the different categories of awards that were awarded were announced.
Once again, the Radio Theatre Voices Panel of 95.2 Ràdio has collaborated in the event with the dramatized reading of a fragment of the winning work of the last edition of the Ferran Canyameras Novel Prize, "El dia que Josep Pla va bufetejar Adolf Hitler", by Francesc Puigpelat, according to the adaptation by Beth Solsona.

Dipalme Radio, the radio station managed by the Provincial Council of Almería, and the Quadre de Veus de Radioteatre reach an agreement for the transfer of the radio series 'El Pan y la Tierra', originally by the Almerian author based in Terrassa Ángel Cazorla. The initiative is framed as one of the multiple tributes received by Cazorla in his land of origin, promoted by various individuals and associations in recent years.
Cazorla, who has lived in Terrassa for most of his life, is originally from the Almeria town of Santa Cruz de Marchena. Born into a humble and hardworking family dedicated to farming, from a young age he alternated his studies with field work, while showing a great interest in literature. At the age of fourteen, he abandoned his studies and shortly after moved to live in Catalonia, where he began to work in various fields. His beginnings as a literary author date back to 1952, when, at the age of twenty-two, he began writing literary texts of a detective, war, science fiction, and above all, stories of the West or
"westerns", using the pseudonym Kent Wilson. In 1957 he moved to live in Belgium, in the Leuven region, where he combined his professional activity as a construction worker with attending night classes in English and French until he obtained his diploma. In 1959, the nervous ordeal caused by the overload of work in the professional sphere, studies and the cold climate of the region led Cazorla to write the rural drama 'El Pan y la Tierra', in which the memories and nostalgia of his childhood are very present, and which serves as an escape valve for all the pressure he endured. In 1960, Cazorla returned to Terrassa, where he had left three years earlier. Since then, he has worked as a sales executive for an important textile company in the city and has traveled around the world, without forgetting, however, his literary hobby, especially poetry, which he continues to develop over the years. Upon retirement, Cazorla once again established his residence in his native town, where he collaborates with different local entities and develops a great deal of cultural activity. At the beginning of the 21st century, he returned to Terrassa to settle permanently.
'El Pan y la Tierra' is a rural drama set in an imaginary town in the province of Almeria. The action describes the history of a town, its customs, its idiosyncrasies, and a series of characters who move between loves, hates, jealousies and passions subjected to a strange and capricious fate. The radio series consists of fifty episodes of approximately a quarter of an hour each that will be broadcast by the Almeria station with a majority audience in the towns of the province, a fact that will make many of the inhabitants of these lands relive the past.
The serial will begin airing on Dipalme Radio on February 9th and will be broadcast weekly every Tuesday between 2:45 PM and 4:00 PM.

Francesc A. Izquierdo Alcolea died here at the age of 95.
Izquierdo started Ràdio Terrassa at the beginning of the 1940s, after winning a prize for the Jocs Florals at the age of 17; and he was Radio Programming Head for more than 15 years. Next, he will stand out for his great creative capacity, both within and outside of the radio mitjà.
On the radio, he stands out for being the creator and scriptwriter of the historical Sardanist espai 'Contrapunt', with more than 1,200 editions on its channel; the scripts for 'Inspector Hamilton', a police series of more than a hundred capítols that is broadcast weekly in radio soap opera format; The adaptation of some well-known theatrical works to the radio drama format; or the scripts of the controversial space 'Our minute of each day', which will be separated from them by the Franco censorship of the time. Later, he will leave the radio to work as a scriptwriter at Televisió Espanyola, which just started his new career.
Besides the radio, Izquierdo's other great passion was his neighborhood: the Old Town of Sant Pere de Terrassa and his Casal. It's unfortunate not to have always seen the neighborhood, the certainty is that it will have a great connection at all times. Among many other things, the event for the recovery of the Casament Vuitcentista stands out, which since 1981 has become the most popular festival of all those that are celebrated and in which he will participate as a scriptwriter and actor. Furthermore, he is the creator of the play 'Ganàpia i Cigronet', some shepherds inspired by 'Bato i Borrego', which, for many years, have represented the Casal de Sant Pere.
Izquierdo's great career as an author and screenwriter earned him recognition from the General Society of Authors and Editors (SGAE) in 2001 for more than 50 years as an author.

The actor of Radioteatre's Quadre de Veus, Jaume Sellarès, died this Saturday, April 4, as a consequence of the complications generated by the SARS-CoV-2 virus infection.
Sellarès will begin to collaborate with our cast in 2010, starting from the representation of 'Dotze homes sense pietat', and since then he has participated in more than a dozen works, such as El mercader de Venècia, 'La corona d'espines, 'El criat de dos amos' or 'Cuando ella es la otra', and othes. His last role was that of the character of Andreu, the protagonist of Isabel-Clara Simó's work 'La visita, a work registered on February 24 and which has not been broadcasted.
Besides of the Teatre Radiofònic, Sellarès has participated in numerous performances on the amateur stages of our city. In particular, the activities of the Grup Teatral Egarenc stand out, both of which have represented and directed different works in darrers anys.
