Albert Puig

On Friday, October 9, Albert Puig i Serra —a long-standing actor with the Quadre de Veus de Radioteatre  (Radio Drama Troupe)—passed away. Born in Terrassa in 1929, Puig was part of the acting ensemble during its initial period in the 1960s. When the troupe resumed its activities in 1983, he rejoined the cast and performed in over sixty plays—in both Catalan and Spanish—well into the first decade of the 21st century. Notable roles included Ciutti in "Don Juan Tenorio", Pare Aguilar in "La ferida lluminosa", and Senyor de Bellpuig in "La corona d'espines", among others.

Beyond radio drama and stage-based amateur theater, Puig was a lover of "zarzuela" and an avid painter.

Albert Puig died at the age of 97 in the town of Banyoles (Girona), where he had lived in recent years.
