"Señoras, señores: Hace unos cuantos años, las distintas emisoras de radio tenían en el radioteatro de la noche uno de los programas más escuchados. Cada semana, emitían una obra, y los oyentes, cada noche, cambiaban de emisora para seguir la obra de teatro. Alrededor del único aparato receptor de la casa, apiñadas junto al brasero, a la hora en punto, las mujeres se disponían a coser, planchar o calcetar, mientras los hombres, fumándose el cigarrillo de tras la cena, se burlaban del entusiasmo con que las féminas de la casa se disponían a escuchar el radioteatro. Y, sin embargo, muchas veces, los hombres terminaban, también, enganchados en la trama de la obra, llegando al final a regañadientes por las dos horas de sueño perdidas, pues entonces, la gente no se dormía en las altas sillas de aquellos comedores o en las más sencillas de la mesa camilla. Al revés de hoy, totalmente al revés..."
