Anselm Marcet

 Anselm Marcet, actor del Quadre de Veus de Radioteatre    


Born in 1929 in Terrassa, on early age he felt passion for theater and acting since the age of 18 in the theater section of "Casal de Sant Pere". Around Christmas of 1947, this theatrical cast was representing scenes from "Los pastorcillosde Belén" in studios of the station, where Anselm Marcet starred Satan. Joan Llenas, who recently had created the theater group of the station, was at his home that day and heard the performance on the radio. Such was the impact that produced, which immediately went to the station and offered Marcet to join the theater group. So, next month, in January 1948, Anselm Marcet  debuted at radio theater performance of "La puntaire", which made the two different roles, "Xivi" and "Mossèn Ramon". After speaking in many other works, always playing characters who were very appropriate character for his voice. Since 1953, he also arranged the work with an actor of the radio announcer, taking part in all kinds of commercial programs and presenting the historical program of sardanas "Contrapunt", then wrote and directed Francesc Izquierdo. In 1965, he couldn't assumed compatibility between radio and his usual work, he left radio speaker, but without sacrificing radio theater.
In 1982 the new atage of Radio Theater Voices Company, he joined again the voice cast. He took part again in many plays and represented many characters, always appropriate to his distinctive voice. In these years, include for example, "A mitad de camino" by Peter Ustinov, "Ball robat" by Joan Oliver, "Caligula" by Albert Camus, "Cobardias" by Manuel Linares Rivas, "Don Juan Tenorio" by Jose Zorrilla, "Doce hombres sin piedad" by Reginald Rose, "El león en invierno" by James Goldman, "El patñi blau" by Santiago Rusiñol, "L'hostal de la Glòria" by Josep Maria de Sagarra "Les precioses ridícules" by Molière or" Petra Regalada" by Antonio Gala, among many others.
Apart from radio works, his career is marked by the theatrical activity in theater stages he has developed in "Centre Parroquial de Sant Pere" for a large period of his life. This same organization also promoted sardanas activity in the early 1950.
In 1990, he participated in the film "La teranyina" directed by Antoni Verdaguer, and based on the novel of Jaume Cabré, both them born in Terrassa, where appeared in the renowned actors such as Fernando Guillen, Sergi Mateu, Ramon Madaula, Amparo Soler Leal, Jordi Dauder, Alfred Luchetti, Ovidi Montllor Joan Borràs, or also Terrassa Rosa Aguado, Lluís Barón, Pep Pla, Jaume Bernet and Josep Maria Casanovas.
This whole career was recognized in 1991 when he was appointed "Terrassenc de l'any". In 1999, in commemoration of his fifty years front of the microphones, he received a warm tribute by fellow station.
Marcet died in November of the year 2005.
