En el marc de la temporada estable de Teatre Radiofònic a la nostra emissora, avui volem fer-vos arribar "La tercera palabra", una comèdia dramàtica en tres actes d'Alejandro Casona.

Alejandro Rodriguez Alvarez, conegut amb el pseudònim d'Alejandro Casona, és un poeta i dramaturg asturià nascut el 1903, descendent de progenitors ambdós dedicats a la docència. Va iniciar els estudis de Filosofia i Lletres a la Universitat d'Oviedo per després acabar la Llicenciatura a Murcia. Més tard, es traslladà a Madrid, on va emprendre els estudis a l'Escola Superior de Magisteri. El 1928, després de llicenciar-se, fou destinat a la població aranesa de Lles, localitat on fundà un grup de teatre infantil conjuntament amb els alumnes de l'escola on impartia les classes. El 1931, després d'apovar unes opsicions de la Inspección Provincial de Madrid, tornà a la capital, on va fixar-hi la seva residència. És en aquesta època, que començà a escriure nombroses obres teatrals i poètiques, com ara "El peregrino de la barba florida", "La flauta del sapo", o "La sirena varada", aquesta darrera estrenada al Teatro Español amb gran èxit. El 1937, després de l'esclat de la Guerra Civil, va haver d'exiliar-se a Argentina. Allà obtingué diversos èxits teatrals, entre els que destaca "Los árboles mueren", representada uninterrompudament durant tres anys. El 1963, després de vint-i-cinc anys d'exili, tornà a Espanya. Un any més tard, estrenà una obra sobre Quevedo, "El caballero de las espuelas", al Teatro Bellas Artes de Madrid, amb notable èxit. Alendro Casona morí a la capital madrilenya a mitjans de setembre de 1965 deixant una extensa producció d'obres teatrals, guions, poesia, assajos, i teatre per a infants.

L'obra que avui posem en antena, "La tercera palabra",data del 1953, l'època en que l'autor vivia exiliat a Buenos Aires, i ens explica la història de Pablo, un jove de 28 anys que no sap ni llegir ni escriure, doncs el seu pare ha decidit criar-lo a pagès, a la seva manera i lluny de la societat urbana. Després de la mort del pare, Pablo hereda una important quantitat de diners i la seva educació resta a càrrec de les seves tías, que han de procurar donar-li l'educació que li correspon. Després de tres fracassos consecutius, arriba Marga, una nova tutora, recentment graduada a la Universitat, amb l'encàrrec d'emprendre l'educació del jove. Malgrat que Marga, en un principi, rebutja frontalment l'oferta de les tías, finalment decideix acceptar el repte i quedar-se; i Pablo decideix deixar-se ensenyar per la tutora acabada d'arribar. D'ençà d'aquest moment, Pablo, encisat pels mètodes de Marga, pren un interès creixent en aprendre, i ambdós comencen una entesa que va cada cop a més. Però, no tot són flors i violes, i un dia la situació comença a complicar-se.

La versió radiofònica que avui posem en antena és un enregistrament del Quadre de Veus de Radioteatre sota la direcció de Joan Garrigó i amb la participació de Júlia Gonzalez en Marga, Glòria Farrés en la Tía Matilde, Joana Palau en la Tía Angelina, Margarida Fabregat en Doña Lola, Laura Castillo en Josefina, Joan Salvador en Pablo, Ricard Pagès en el Señor Roldán, Ismael Majó en Julio, Albert Puig en el Profesor, i Francisco Domingo en Eusebio. La narració és de Ramon Bravo, el muntatge musical de Nina Mataix i la realització tècnica de Joan Borràs.
